13. Geostatistics for Integrating Well Data and Seismic Attributes

Conditioning data preparation and quality control
User can define wells to create conditioning data for subsequent geostatistical data analysis, kriging and conditional simulation on a horizon surface, interval, or strata-grid
Well Data Upscaling
Flexible to select upscaling algorithms, such as mean, median, min, max, RMS, etc, for different types of well logs or formation properties.
Data analysis
  • User can analyze conditioning data by the following tools
  • Histogram distribution,
  • Correlation table and
  • Cross plots between upscaled well data and seismic attributes
  • Calculate semi-variograms and fit to variogram models
User can estimate the “best” seismic attributes that are sensitive to the target property by the following algorithms.
  • Principal Component Analysis
  • Neighborhood Component Analysis
  • Step-wise regression
  • Simple kriging
  • Universal kriging
  • Collocated kriging with seismic attributes
Conditional Simulation
  • Generate equiprobable realizations of the target variable and honor well conditioning data
  • Use seismic attributes as the trend variable
  • Constrained by seismic facies
Uncertainty Analysis
  • Calculate p10, p50, and p90 of the target variable
  • Uncertainty of the target variables is presented in histograms or as maps or grids
